I just bought Cubase Pro 8 and installed it only to find out that the sound doesn’t work right at first how do I go about turning it on?

Have you configured the VST connections? Setup the ASIO driver for your audio device?
Have you read the Getting Started document? The Getting Started will explain these basic steps.
