No sound to audio track after routing

Hello,

New install of Cubase LE 9.5 and I can’t get sound into an audio track. I’ve tried both my Focusrite Scarlett and Apollo and I’m getting sound into the computer (I can tell via the sound card console/driver software). I’ve selected the correct Asio driver in cubase and routed the audio connections per the usual inputs/outputs for the sound card and I’m not getting any signal to a new audio track routed to the corresponding sound card input. Did I miss a step during setup?

Using an Apollo X4 (also tried my Focusrite Scarlett 18i20), Catalina 10.15.5, and Cubase LE 9.5 on a Mac mini

I’m sorry could not withstand

basically it could be the same issue we have every day in here
in MacOS 10.15 yopu need Cubase to give the right to use the microphone
