No Sound when importing Audio with Control Room active

Hi everyone,
As I have to work home (due to virus), I have Cubase 10.5.20 installed on my “old” PC with a Behringer UMC1820 audio interface (don’t laugh at me, this is my emergency solution).
I can’t hear any sound when importing any kind of audio file. Even through Mediabay.
I’ve tried lots of workaround. Of course, I can work without CR and everything is audible, but I want to use CR as I’m used to. Control Room is setting correct,
Any suggestion?

Hi,

As far as I can see, if you select the item in the result list, you can hear the sound, right? But if you click the play button you don’t hear it. Am I right?

Could you try in Cubase Safe Start Mode [Disable preferences], please?

Martin, no, this was a mistake by me. I pressed the spacebar erroneously and the song started!
Anyway, I will try the safe mode

Ok, as I disable the program preferences, everything works fine.
What now?

Hi,

In this case, I would recommend to delete the preferences. You can do it either from the Cubase Safe Start Mode dialog, or you can (backup) and delete Cubase Preferences folder.

Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% Steinberg/Cubase X_64
