No sound when selecting a Media bay file

I can’t hear the sound in media bay. I have to drag it into the cubase file to hear it. That’s Number 1. Number 2 …. I don’t not have the conopen the trol room tab visible when I open the audio connections window.
I just reinstalled cubase 13 pro…..not change. Thanks for your help.

Hi,

This has already been discussed many times here on the forum.

If the Control Room is enabled, all previews are routed via Monitor buses. Open Audio Connections > Control Room and add a Monitor bus and route it to a meaningful Audio Port.

If the Control Room is disabled, all previews are routed via the Main Mix. Open Audio Connections > Outputs. Right-click on your Output bus and enable Main Mix.

Right clicking into the tabs area should let you make missing tabs visible.

First of all, excuse the typos
That DID resolve the control room tab issue.

I still can’t hear the files play in the media bay windows.
I have to insert them into the project to hear…very tedious
Ant suggestions?

As soon as the Control Room is enabled this preference setting becomes important:

When it is activated the prelisten will go through the headphones section of the Control Room, otherwise it will got through the main mix section.
