No voice 4 but a voice 5?

How come there’s no voice 4 (purple) but a voice 5 (orange)? “Dorico assigns colors to voices based on the order in which they are created”. If you need the file for this issue, please tell me and I’ll upload one tomorrow.

Also, since there’s no voice 4 to swap with I’d like to move the voice 5 to voice 4. Is there some way to do that?

I guess for now the easiest way to go is to delete the notes and re-enter them since it only concerns this bar. But if there are a lot of music, moving voices to another voice would be better if possible.

I’ve found purple notes too! There were just a few of them which explains why I didn’t see them.

For moving notes to other voices, select them, right-click > Voices > Change Voice > [desired voice]. Or even just select and hit V to cycle the selection round available voices.

Note that the numbering’s all subject to change anyway - if you happen to clear everything out of upstem voice 2 and still have notes in upstem voice 3, on closing and reopening the project you’ll find the empty voice has been cleaned out.

So then the upstem voice 3 has moved to upstem voice 2?

Exactly.
