Hey all,
I had a complete system restart of my computer today and after that, all of my VSTs are no longer working or showing in Dorico. Even HALion Sonic, which is the default, has !! all around it and no sound will play. No matter what pathway I allow for finding my VSTs, Dorico will not recognise it. Any help is greatly appreciated, as I have several projects due soon.

The exclamation marks mean that the libraries aren’t where Dorico expects to find them.

I have tried putting in every possible pathway to allow Dorico to find the VST files, yet none will appear. I have shown the two folders where all my VSTs are, which has been working up until my post.

I do not seem to have either of these folders. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Halion from the Download assistant 3 or 4 times now, still no dice.

I’m on a Mac and looked up ‘Where does Dorico install its Halion sound libraries‘ to get that answer.
Do you get any errors when running the SDA for Halion? Have you tried specifically setting the download location in the SDA for them?

first of all, thank you very much, Mark, for trying to help out here even that you are on a Mac and not Win, but let me take over this case. Ethan is a little bit confused about the difference between paths to the instrument plug-ins and the paths to the sound libraries. But I will sort all this with him in a remote session. I’m in private communication with him now.
Ethan’s HALion Sonic was not installed properly and also the sound content in a wrong location, but we’ve fixed that and he is now up and running
