No wave image being drawn when recording audio

  1. create stereo or mono audio track
  2. arm track for recording
  3. start recording incoming audio source
    clip begins to be drawn but no wave image is in clip.
    play back clip and audio can be heard
    NOTE: running offline process Like resample or normalize draws image in clip.

Cubase 9.5.0 build 55(64 bit)

It’s well known bug that it will be fixed in the up coming patch.

A temporary solution is to record using 24 bit resolution instead of 16 bit.

I have this issue in 2020. What is the current solution?

boot Cubase in safe mode (Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-Alt) and delete program preferences
