No way to access automation Curve Type in Info Line in MIDI Editor

I can imagine this issue is pretty frustrating for mainly orchestral composers who need way more ramps in CC automation than steps. Currently CC automation in the Key Editor just KEEPS reverting to Step all the time.

The option to switch between the two, at the bottom left arrow of the Key Editor (where the lanes are), does nothing. Only by selecting all automation points, then going to the Curve Type in the Info Line above to change it to Ramp, works.

And frustratingly, it is INACCESSIBLE via Macro. i’ve really really tried. In other words, there’s simply no way to auto-simplify a command to achieve this.

Can this please be addressed? Any help appreciated.

Hi,

You can switch, if the right-side curve-type of the next node will be Step or Ramp.

  • Controller Lane Setup
  • Type of New Controller
  • Step
  • Draw a Node
  • Draw another Node.
→ The line between these last 2 nodes is Step

  • Controller Lane Setup
  • Type of New Controller
  • Ramp
  • Draw a Node
  • Draw another Node.
→ The line between these last 2 nodes is Ramp

See above, please.

This option applies to events created afterwards. It does not change existing events. As you found out that can be done via the Info Line.

I’m just looking for when I change to “Ramp”, every node, be it non-existent or existent, will all just be ramp.

Exactly, that’s what I’d like to access with a Macro, but it won’t let me!

I insert commands “Edit Info Line”, then go to Focus>Foward x 3, it does NOT land on “Curve Type”.

Good find.
@Martin.Jirsak : It would rather be the key command “Next”, not Forward. But it does not allow to get to the Curve Type in the Info Line.
Waveform

@Teo : I guess you’ll have to use the mouse for the time being.

Thanks for the animated example. Yep.
