- Create a track with TestGenerator and use a sine wave at a low freq (80Hz works well) to have the most drastic effect.
- Create modulator with sine LFO.
- Assign destination to the track volume.
And there it is, the good old zipper noise. You can work around it quite easily by using the new volume plugin, which works flawlessly. And, when rendering in-place or final, you also find your audio intact. But wouldn’t it be nice if this would work right from the start?
I don’t get a zipper noise on MacOS using Apollo x8s on N14. No difference than modulating gain on the volume plugin from this side (other than modulating volume makes my UF1 go crazy
)
Uh! Thanks for checking!
I don’t get it from automating or moving the faders (this problem is long gone). Only from the modulator.
That’s pretty odd! I personally like the “volume” plugin, but it would still be nice to know what causes that on your side.
Some more research. It only happens with ASIO Guard turned on. So Mac is most likely not affected.
