Normal To Crash When Left For Several Hours?

Hi running Cubase 14 Pro on Mac M3 Max.

Is it normal for cubase to crash when left and not touched for hours?

Sometime it can be left on Mac locked for days and will not crash, other times only a few hours and it will crash. It does always give a crash log but I have not sent it into Steinberg as I expect they will say I should save and quit when not using for any period.

No, it’s not common.

Could you please attach the *.ips file?

Mac: macOS Console utility > Crash Reports (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).

Is it just with a particular project? Do you have some 3rd-party plugins running, or other applications running while it’s locked?

Hi no it’s any project. Yes I have multiple VST plugins, komplete control, Omnisphere, steinberg plugins. All legit stuff. I’m gonna provide the crash log next time it happens.

I’d start with checking-up on that, considering how it works. Do you have “Put hard disks to sleep when possible” enabled?
