I purchased Cubase 6 Artist before 2012, but upgraded to Cubase 6 full version after January 2012. Wouldn’t I be eligible for the grace period update with Cubase 6 to 6.5? Or does the grace period mean that you would have had to purchase either Artist or the full version after January 2012? Evidently that is the case, as when I perform the maintenance update on the eLicenser, I do not get the necessary info that updates Cubase to 6.5 and the opened website where the update can be downloaded for free.
i hear ya. i did the exact same thing as you. No grace period update. good luck
I contacted support. If and when I hear from them, I’ll post it here.
I upgrade from C5 to C6, and I got the graceperiod.
… says when activated - nothing when bought.
Well, in My Steinberg, it says that I activated the full Cubase 6 version on Jan. 7, 2012.
Here’s response I got from Chris at Steinberg support:
Yes, you did activate on 11.01.2012, 23:54, so I would expect that you do qualify for the grace period upgrade. First, verify that your USB key is connected lighting up, then download and install the latest eLCC from http://www.elicenser.net/en/latest_downloads.html
Then go through the Grace Period process from http://www.steinberg.net/en/support/grace_period/cubase_65_grace_period_info.html
If you still have the same problem, please take a screen shot of the error and email it back to me. Thank you.
You do not even have to contact support, open up the elicenser control centre, perform maintenance updates and the license will be replaced automatically with a 6.5 one if you activated after jan 1, this happened to me I was not even aware I was eligible !
seems that there is a update about the upgrade grace period.
** Trial versions and upgrades from Cubase Artist 6 to Cubase 6 are excluded from this offer.
seems lame. i still paid full price for the software. It just was in two payments. And technically i did activate Cubase 6 on or after 01/01/2012.
Lame i say. About 50 bucks lame.
** Update: All is better now. Thank you Steinberg.
