Sometimes I find it necessary, or at least useful, to be able to insert a group of notes/chords into the main body of music, temporarily, as an audition tool. I have seen nothing that would serve this purpose. Is anyone else aware of a method of grouping isolated notes together, so that they can be moved, vertically or horizontally, without disturbing the other notes or unintentionally deselecting notes in the group? A function like that would be very helpful for what I do.
The one thing that would come to (my) mind is to insert the new notes in their own part.
But then I still have to select them to keep them together, and if I miss one or accidentally de-select anything as I move them around, the whole system gets corrupted. Not to mention going out of the editor to set up a new track, etc.
If you set up the Key Editor to work only on the active Part you can simply select all with Ctrl/Cmd + A. Seems like a small thing to do.
And why do you need to set up a new track? You can put Midi Parts on top of each other.
