But those are not cross-staff, are they? 
Those are centered beams. If you’re working with Windows, select and right-click any of the notes connected with the beam and select Stem > Force Centered Beam (EDIT: Just as @Janus described). (I do not know how to access a context menu on MacOS, but I guess it is similar.)
