Note-off megatrig

I’m trying to trigger a sample on note-off using the note-on envelope. I have tried to copy the configuration of “Violoncelli+Violas unisono” where this works perfectly.

So I have created a megatrid in my off-layer “Grain 1”.

and have configured voice control to note-on Env in Release mode.

For some reason, there is no sound at all on note off. If I change note-off to sustain off and set a fixed not, I get the sound with the correctly triggered amp envelope. If I set Release Mode to Off, I still don’t get any sound. If I put the note-off velocity amount in megatrig to 100, I stil don’t get any sound.

I also have tried the “Note-off trigger” in voice control and couldn’t make that work as well. It’s like there some volume or velocity dial still down somewhere.

Do you have any ideas what I might be missing? Any suggestion are greatly appreciated.

Answering my own question at least partially.

My sample was a looped sample, but I didn’t properly set the release loop points. It seems the “note-off trigger” triggers the release phase (which makes sense I guess), so if the release loop points aren’t set properly and end abruptly, there is no sound on note-off.

What I still can’t get to work is a Note-on Env in Release Mode with a megatrig condition note-off. If I leave Release mode to “off”, the megatrig condition creates a sound with the release phase though.

Ah got it, I didn’t have a sample triggering on note-on. As a result, the note-on enveloper wasn’t playing. If I add a silent sample for note-on, the note-on envelope is triggered and the megatrig sample jumps to the release phase of that envelope.
