Hey y’all,
I’m relatively new to Dorico, having cross graded from Finale, and I have just encountered an issue that I have not seen in the months I’ve been using Dorico, and I can’t seem to find any discussion of similar issues on forums or anywhere else.
In my project, I added a measure into the middle of the project to extend a held chord by one measure. However, no matter how many times I delete the measure, rewrite the notes, extend playback, manually adjust playback in the play menu, etc., the audio playback of the held notes ends about a beat into the newly added measure.
I know there is a way to upload a file for others to see specifically what I mean, but I’m not sure of how to do it. Any and all help is super appreciated, because this has been breaking my brain for a couple days now.
Welcome to the forum, @aaron.price826 !
You can just drag the file into the edit window here in the forum, or use the upload button in the toolbar. But since you’re a new user, you probably don’t have enough “experience points” to upload.
Can you upload the file to Dropbox or something similar, and post a link here?
Throwing a dart in the dark… how long is the total length of the held note, what is the instrument, and what VST are you using for playback of that instrument ? There are some VST with sounds that have a limited duration, which may or may not apply here.
Could be! The note is three tied whole notes (dotted breve) at 172, so it’s not all that long, but I’m not sure if the number of beats matters more than just real-time length. I am using Halion Sonic (it is a marching band show, so it is brass and woodwinds if that makes a difference)
I just uploaded it to my Google Drive and tried to post it, but it told me I am not allowed to post links
