Note repeat Request (MPC style)

Hello,

I’d like to request the ability to have a note repeat system on note input, as is currently possible in Logic Pro and Studio One, with the ability to control different subdivisions and dynamics with MIDI controls like modulation and pitch controllers.

I hope this is a shared request by other users and that the team will take it seriously in account

Thanks, friends. Long life to Cubase

I’m not familiar with those daws– could you explain a bit more what that would be, or reply with the exact name of the feature in Logic or Studio One so I can figure it out?

You press and hold a note and it plays 8ths 16th etc. you can change the division with key commands. usually used for Hi Hat rolls etc.

Comes form Akai MPC world. Also available in Groove Agent.

Exactly, it’s usually a useful function with hihats, but it’s also very nice if used with synth chords and the stuff like that

but yes, It’s primarily use is on drums.

Thanks for explaying better my request

Can this be done by inserting an arpeggiator, which is then set to 8ths or 16ths? Arpache SX?

But if I have already recorded Kick and Snare, the arpeggiator play also that pieces of drumkit. This solution (workaround) can be useful only if applied on a track with a single sound and not very musical friendly as a dedicated note repeat

Does step input in Cubase not let you do this?

It’s definitely helpful in achieving results; I’m currently using it.

Obviously, it doesn’t offer the extemporaneous approach that much of creativity relies on. In theory, we could write everything with the Pencil tool, but the creative flow needs to be supported by tools. I hope Steinberg is listening.

Thanks for reply
