Note rhythms-Condense

conde.dorico (1.5 MB)

Even when applying the Condense effect to the marked section, the note rhythms get disrupted. How can I fix this?

Change the first Condensing Change to become the second one (two voices stem up / down) and delete the second one.

It doesn’t matter if the first bar has separate stems.

Thanks.

The marked section is split into two staves, and an eighth rest and a quarter rest should appear next to it. How should I set the Condense option?

Apply another Condensing Change at the first rest in the second bar and Reset Manual Condensing.

Could you possibly explain it to me in a video?

A video is too laborious. Apply this setting

Thanks. @Vadian @charles_piano

The lower note of the eighth note in the second bar should be in the second voice. How should I set this up?

For consistency both bars should be condensed with stem up / stem down.

Dorico’s condensing suggestions are pretty good, there is no need to apply condensing changes in every bar.

It’s not regular to change the voicing in the middle of a tied note (and I even thought I was just not possible). I just tried and it works more or less — though with an unwanted player label that you’ll have to hide.

As @Vadian is saying, both sides of the barline should have the same voicing here (either one voice or two voices).

It works in the sample score, but in the original score, it appears as shown in the image. The voices aren’t separated, and suddenly an eighth rest appeared above.

Then we would need to see the real file you’re working on, or at least a cut-down version.
