I’ve been using Note Spacing Changes more and more, and there is one little thing that I’m longing for quite often: When I add a NSC and select “Change”, I can then set the new value. But when I select"Reset", there is no indication of what value it will be reset to. This would really be helpful at that point, because I find myself asking what I’m actually doing by selecting “Reset”.
Also, while we are at this topic: It would be really (really) nice if the Note Spacing Change window had an “Apply” button. Finding the sweet spot for the values can often require quite some back-and-forth between values, and it would be nice to have the window stay open.
Thanks, I know that. And that’s of course where I go to answer the question.
But it’s quite cumbersome. When many layouts have (slightly) different settings and you try your best to fit the music as best as you can, closing the NSC dialog, opening layout options, finding the right number, closing the dialog and opening the NSC dialog again is quite a way to go
What’s tricky is that you could later change the default value in Layout Options, and this will affect all of the “Reset” areas automatically. So displaying the default value in the Change dialog will show you what it’s being reset to right now, but that’s subject to change.
Edit: As @Estigy notes, this is expected behavior. I’m just thinking that some users might find it confusing that the Change dialog told them they were resetting to some value, but when they look at it again later, it has changed (because they subsequently changed the default in Layout Options).
