Is there a way to use NotePerformer’s 1/2 sections and solo instruments without overriding the Dorico’s Divisi mechanics?
As far as I know, the only way to have, let’s say, a Cello orchestra section that at some point separates into two groups and one soloist is to have 4 staves for the cellos (1 for the full section, 1 for solo, 2 for 1/2) throughout the score and hide them when they’re not being used.
I mean, it’s not that bad a solution, unless you like using the Galley View and you have many different divisi configurations, but it makes the whole Divisi mechanics completely pointless.
Does anyone have a better solution?
