To me NP5 is very bad news: a strategic step to reduce quality in favour of flexibility (being able to write your own NPEs) and demands on resources (CPU and memory).

But I have CPU and memory in abundance, what I need is quality. So reluctantly I’ll be going back to NP4 and will now start to look else where in the market to see if there are any competitors to NP whose strategic direction remains quality rather than flexibility/resources. Wallander have said they will no longer support NP4 so I have to find a replacement to NP4 before it stops working. I’m feeling a little let down by Wallander’s change in strategic direction.

I am trying to keep an open mind on NP5, especially since I haven’t had time to really dive into how to get my music in NP5 to sound anywhere as good as it did in NP4.
