Noteperformer adding unwanted (hidden) pedal effect

Noteperformer 4 is adding pedal sounds where I don’t write them. This may be intentional, but is rather irritating when the effect is not desirable.

I don’t believe NP has the power to do this. It can’t change notation.

This must be something in Dorico.

Sorry, I’m not quite sure why I wrote “markings”.

Are you talking about the markings in mm. 10-13? Those are actual markings in Dorico, not something added by NP. Or are you hearing pedaling somewhere else in the piece?

NP does by default add some reverb. You can adjust this by going to Play mode, selecting one of your three staves, and clicking the “e” button under the Track Inspector on the right to bring up the NP mixer.

I meant the unmarked sounds near the end of the piece. I may restart Dorico and see if it is fixed.

Edit: Restarted and it didn’t fix it. It’s happening in measures 21 - 24.

Oh, from mm. 20 – yes, I do hear that.

It’s not NP, because if I select the default playback template with Dorico’s sounds, I still hear it.

Sorry, I don’t know enough about playback to figure out what’s going on.

The last pedal marking in measure 13 hangs over the double bar. Somehow this is causing it to continue into the Chaos King section. If you nudge the right handle of the pedal marking just slightly left, CC64 will go to 0.

It might have something to do with repeats – not sure, but the little nudge fixes it.

Thank you! That worked. It sounds much cleaner now.
