I am just setting up Dorico 5 having migrated from Finale – I am using Noteperfomer as my default sound source. When I type in notes using my midi keyboard - the midi data is entered into the write window but I don’t hear anything as I play in the notes. When I playback I hear the sounds. I have watched several of the Steinberg videos on youtube about “not hearing” things - but nothing I have tried is helping. As a friend always says - it always one more button - but I don’t know what to try.

Well, I have the opposite problem. I do hear the NotePerformer sound during input, and I would like not to. It drives me nuts! (I’m using it with Dorico 5 as well.)
I’m sure someone will come along and tell both of us how to change the behavior in the way we want to.
Welcome to the forum @lewisinkpress ,
from the Dorico menu choose Edit > Preferences and in that dialog choose the Play tab and scroll down a bit, is there the MIDI thru option set with you?

Hi @L3B ,
so I guess that MIDI thru option is set with you, right?
