Noteperformer stuck on startup screen, not loading

Hello all,

I was unable to play my old projects and new one too with NP3 in Dorico 4 on a new M1 Mac.
Then I found the following (see Known Issues in Dorico):

Dorico 4 on Apple M1 must be set to operate in Rosetta mode

(the link explains also how to do it). After having started Dorico 4 in Rosetta mode everything’s works fine. Clearly NP3 cannot yet be run as native M1 code, and mixed mode (D4 in M1 native and NP3 in Rosetta) doesn’t work.

The same notice can be found here: (NP3) Dorico Quickstart Guide

That’s right, @Claudio_Rosati, but from the logs I can see that he is already running in Rosetta mode.

Update: Somehow, today Noteperformer has been functioning correctly, even though I haven’t changed anything. I will be content with this as long as the problem doesn’t arise again…

And yes, I have contacted Wallander support!

Okay, you know where to find us should the problem come back…

Hi. Someone just chimed in on the French speaking FB group today with the exact same problem. Does anyone have a clue? He’s running Dorico 3.5 too.

Hi Marc, can you ask the user for a diagnostics report, please. Thanks

Hi Marc, Anthony is served now. He did not have the very latest Dorico 3.5, but an update made it work for him now.

Thanks Ulf. That’s what he told me on FB. Outstanding support
