NotePerformer Tip

I want to purchase NotePerformer and have the following questions for users working with NotePerformer.
1- Can you create expression maps for Kontakt Jazz libraries?
2- Would it be good to work with NotePerformer in Dorico and with .vst3 “Kontakt”? Thank you all and a cordial greeting.

If I am understanding you correctly, yes, you can use additional Kontakt libraries alongside NotePerformer, I have done it many times. You can also duplicate and create your hybrid playback templates. For example I have a playback template which involves some saxophones I prefer + NotePerformer, so when I load a soprano sax I hear my preferred Kontakt instrument, and then for any other orchestral instrument it otherwise loads NotePerformer. It’s very flexible in this regard.

Whether or not it is good is debateable and up to you. For the most part, I use NP to do what it is great at: orchestral instruments, and then supplement this using Kontakt for jazz instruments, guitars, synths, extended and unique percussion, etc etc.

Please consider that what wing answered you was that you could use Kontakt libraries aside from Noteperformer. I am not sure if that was what you were asking. What I understood was that you wanted to know if one can work with Kontakt jazz libraries and their expression maps within Noteperformer. Until I know that doesn’t exist and Noteperformer doesn’t work this way. Moreover, if you want to trigger external libraries with Noteperformer, you need to work with the Playback Engines within it. Until I know, jazz libraries are not supported under Playback Engines to this time.
