Notes holding over in note input

I have been using Dorico for about a year and a half and have note had and major issues. I use pitch and then duration in note input and the pitch is played when I enter the note. However, just yesterday the pitches hold over and sustain. I can enter the notes, but then every pitch holds over and sustains. There must be an easy fix to this.

Welcome to the forum @david.r.gillingham

Are you on Mac and have you upgraded to Golden Gate yesterday?
If no, please ignore my comment.

If yes, this was a bad idea. Dorico is not fully compatible to macOS 27 yet.
For workarounds please see

Hi David,

Welcome to the forum.

Are you on Mac? Did you upgrade your OS to MacOS 27?

Have a look at this thread, with a reaction from the developers of Dorico and a possible workaround

Edit, beaten by @Vadian

Yes, I updated to macOS 27 two days ago.

Well, there you have the cause of your problem.

It seems MacOS27 has a bug in the midi 2.0 implementation.

Hopefully you can use the workaround mentioned in the thread @Vadian and I linked to.

I installed Midipipe and and set up the midi in and out as directed. My present set up is my keyboard is plugged into the M-audio box (midi in) and the keyboard is plugged into computer. Does that make a difference? Should midi in be my keystation or my M-Audio box?
