Notes missing in the condensing score

Here’s what the galley view looks like:

And condensing page view:

As you can see, the bass/baritone part are missing. I can’t find anything obviously wrong. It does seem to be related to the use of multiple voices, although I don’t see anything wrong with doing that. Bug?

Thanks!

bug - missing notes in condensation.dorico (519.8 KB)

Yes, it is indeed related to having a second voice in the Bass part.

From the Dorico manual, under Condensing calculations and considerations:
Only instruments that normally have a single staff and whose music is in a single voice can be condensed, as music already in multiple voices produces ambiguous condensing results.

I don’t think there is an easy way to make the “missing” notes show when Condensing is enabled.
There are a few “workaround wizards” on this forum who might like to take on the challenge, but it would probably be somewhat complicated and might involve an added player, perhaps cutaways, selective hiding and showing, and possibly other “tricks”.

sigh. Thanks, Dorico should show a red warning a something, then. I almost missed this in reviewing. I’ve changed to a single voice with ties to “fix”. I’d rather have the ambiguity than simply not showing the notes.

Yeah, I also wonder: Why did Dorico than not switch to showing Tenor and Bass on two separated staves? (Or is this a manually configured forced condensing group?)

That was manually configured, doesn’t do a great job automatically for choir. Probably will put multiple voices on single staves from now on.
