I noticed a new improvement in Nuendo 14, and probably Cubase as well:
Key command hover overs now update to customizations!
Before, when you would hover over the tools - it would show you whatever the default key command for that tool was. Even if you customized that key command to be something different, it would show the defaults. Same with Menu items.
Now the hover-over updates to assigned and unassigned customizations! This was something I just recently asked about in one of Greg Ondo’s livestreams, to find out that there was no way to fix it. Well now Steinberg has fixed it! Thank you, Steinberg!
This is 2 for 2 on issues I’ve raised to Greg on his livestreams to then be fixed only days after I raised those concerns. The first one was the Video Player not remaining pinned open when switching applications — and that was fixed days later with the 14.0.2 update. Not sure if its coincidence or if raising those concerns on the livestreams helped propel these fixes, but I’ll take it!
Now I just noticed this hover-over is fixed and I am so happy about it! Especially as a new user who is trying to get used to default key commands, but also import some of the key commands I’m used to, this is an amazing improvement.
I’m not sure when this was updated - because I remember it not working like this when I was in the trial phase of Cubase 14 and Nuendo 13, so maybe this was also fixed in the 14.0.2 update.
