No playback overrides. Any suggestions?

Really strange. I don’t know what happened here, but if you delete the notes and reenter them, they will play correctly.
Is this the new version (5.1.2) that was just released? If not, perhaps and update may resolve the issue. If it is the new version, it might be a new issue.
With 5.1.1 it only happens with the existing notes. New staccato notes play correctly, so this issue seems to be down to Dorico.
Edit: I take my words back. When I replace the Noteperformer strings with VSL strings, they play back correctly.
I entered them in via real-time recording. Maybe a CC value hidden somewhere? Not my area of expertise…
You are right, because if you select the strings in bars 33-36 and apply “Play > Automation > Delete all automation for instruments in selection” they play correctly.
To be precise, it’s the CC19 data that messes up the staccato.
I think it’s the data stored in the CC19 channel which is the culprit.
The documentation says that if you set its value from 0 to 1, it makes the “natural” playing style sound legato (so all notes at full length, regardless of any notational overrides).
The CC19 data in your excerpt had all kinds of values, also other than 1 (except on the few notes which did play staccato correctly, there it was 0).
But I’m assuming that - although the documentation doesn’t specifically mention it - actually any non-zero value will trigger the legato technique.
So that means that, if you want to keep certain automation but not these annoying note-length-overrides, you could only delete the data in CC19. This will make the note lengths play back correctly again.
It works, I’ve tried it.
Your double bass part sounded fine by the way, that was probably entered manually.
Thanks everybody, confirmed. I wish recorded parts didn’t store hidden CC data, but not a big deal to remove it.
