I was testing moving envelopes using shortcuts.
Wouldn’t it be better if there were separate shortcuts to nudge envelope and the waveform?
This way users can avoid clicking on the envelope and then Shift +/-

Please explain more. I don’t understand your question.
When nudge time and gain is set according to picture above, the same shortcut is used to move the waveform left or right (when mouse is clicked on waveform) and to change envelope gain (by clicking on envelope)
When there are many files, to increase or decrease gain, users may not find it easy to click on envelopes over and over.
I think there has to be separate shortcuts to move file and to move envelopes.
This menu appears to be complicated. When working with shortcuts, there is a workaround that involves using two shortcuts to come back to Auto Select Item, making Auto Select meaningless.
Every menu option below Auto Select in the Target menu of Nudge should ideally be a shortcut that can be used independently leaving Auto Select persistent.
Suggestion - On Auto Select being Active - When a clip is selected Shift ± moves the clip, if a shortcut like Ctrl ± can move Volume Envelope of the selected clip, Alt ± for Pan etc. Or One Shortcut to nudge Clip and Another to Nudge Active Envelope.
For Example -
If I use a shortcut for Volume of Active Clip
I have to use another shortcut to go back to Auto Select Item
Volume of Active Clip is persistent till then.
Maybe you can consider a checkbox for Nudge - Target - Auto Select (Persistent)
and allow switching menu items through shortcuts and mouse clicks on waveform.
If you see clip below, I choose Clip Fade in and Shift + to fade in. Now, to change gain, I expect it to work by clicking on the envelope and then Shift +. However, I have to click auto select source again/volume to change gain.
It would still be nice if there was also option to edit clip position and envelopes using separate shortcuts - one shortcut for active envelope and another to nudge the waveform.
I am also confused on what can actually be a solution for this.
Thanks for your input. I see what I can do in the future.
