Nuendo 12 Coming soon after Cubase 12?

I hope that the problem of Chinese title audio directly offline processing crash can be solved, because there is such a bug, my Nuendo still stays at 11.0.20.

like all the Eucon issues…

Also I hope they can fix the small issue that Chinese characters are displayed in Japanese typeface on Windows. This fix may result in different font utilization under different language settings.

Any one use avid S4/S6 with nuendo?
Yamaha Nuage now is not available or discontinued…It’s so sad that Nuendo keeps updating, but no control surface to work with now…

so should be expect something to happen tomorrow ^^?

I was able to get an A-Stock Nuage Master, Fader, and small workspace back in November. It is an amazing bit of kit. Right now there is a huge supply chain issue with all OEM’s due to chip shortages. For example, trying to find a Dante accelerator card (Focusrite or Yamaha) right now without getting “taken from behind” is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. Production devices like Tentacle Sync and even some BlackMagic Decklink cards are just now getting replenished from a 4-5 month outage.

When I bought my Nuage, I was told that there are no plans to discontinue support and/or maintenance for them. Hopefully nothing has changed in the past couple of months. The new MIDI Remote feature could change everyone’s approach to proprietary comm protocols.

As far as I know, no new units are build, but support and maintenance is guaranteed for many years to come.

I just bought our second set of 2 Fader, 1 Master and a small WS Unit 3 weeks ago. There should be some left at the german retailer as he stocked all available units back in December. Get yours, while they are hot
unfortunately there is no MMP-1 to find anywhere in the world as it seems.

Haha. I know the feeling.
Once you have touched a Nuage, you can’t do without anymore.

I wonder just how much stock is still on the market. I’d say that normally a company that provides controllers like this to support their software would make sure there’s an overlap to some degree between older controllers and newer ones. So without a new one out it seems to me that either there are plenty of units out there that are unsold, or there’s one ready to be released any week now (unlikely), or this is them getting out of the controller business.

I’m thinking it’s the latter. Which is somewhat sad, but understandable.

That sounds very much like “E.O.L” to me! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Marcel said there was nothing new in Nuendo 12 that really required any updates in Nuage. Then Timo says N12 is going to be so improved that > NEVER seen before in ANY DAW. So, which is it?

Now you’re saying that they’re not even building anymore units. None of this is good news for those of us who were hoping for the same kind of longevity and development that Avid’s S4, S5 & S6 Consoles are enjoying with Pro Tools.

Since you own a Nuage system, you should know better. You know how it works.

Let me answer with a question: what kind of feature can Nuendo introduce which makes controlling it from Nuage impossible?

Granted, “Making coffee while you wait” would require a tap on the side and a slot to pour the coffee beans in.

There is absolutely no reason to assume that all software development wil come to a halt.
Steinberg has supported the WK Audio ID console for decades, although less than a handful units were sold.

I’m speculating that there will be added “basic” video editing capability and rendering. Even if that is the case, I would imagine that all of the editing functionality on the Master controller could handle it.

Well maybe I should know. But I guess it’s clear that I don’t.

Since I am “soooo late to this party” you might understand how it could appear that “everyone is leaving and off to the next one.”

From my vantage point, things don’t look all that great. You will recall that they’ve even REMOVED some features that we previously had! Your led’s were yellow when I got mine. I wanted my led’s to match the color scheme I had in Nuendo. I ran the usual procedure in preferences and it didn’t work. So, I asked you how you managed to get yours to yellow. You checked and now we both have orange leds! Yamaha said that they have no intention of restoring that little feature.

While this is admittedly insignificant, it was nonetheless startling as a new owner to have less control than I was already enjoying. We haven’t had an update since N8. I was asking Yamaha about the mapping issues with 3rd party plugins (like those in the Avid S4/6) and they agreed that it could be better. But there were no plans to address it. I think the colors are way too small in the track List compared to those in even the Avid Control App. The end result there is that I almost never use that section for track selection. Again, really little things that don’t impede the work. But at this price point you would expect at least the appearance of staying current with the competitors.

I still love this controller ! The longer I use it the more I like using it. I am very encouraged by your assurance that Nuage is “safe” for years to come. But if safe can be so easily confused with stagnant, then you might understand why I would be concerned.

Well, Nuage is what it is, and it will remain what it always has been. A hardware unit, without ANY DSP which does nothing else than remote controlling Nuendo.
So 99,9% of what Nuage can do is one on one with what Nuendo can do.

I told you that I could make this work in one of the beta versions of Nuendo. Has nothing to do with Nuage. This color scheme hasn’t been re-implemented for whatever reason, and I don’t know when -and if- it is going to re-appear. It is a Nuendo thing, not a Nuage thing.

Unless I am mistaking, this also is a Nuendo-thing.

If new key commands or functions become available in Nuendo, you will be able to see them in Nuage. Really, there hardly is any DSP in a Nuage controller. Open one of your units, and you’ll see. And if a firmware update would be needed to support a new function in Nuendo, I see no reason why this can’t be done.

And as I said many times before in your quest to the Mother Of Controllers, you will never find a controller that is tailermade to your needs. It’s a compromise. Like everything in this world is a compromise. You really shouldn’t let that make you unhappy.
On the contrary, there is no controller out there that does a better job.
You own the flagship. It simply doesn’t get better than that.

You did read the part where I said that “I STILL LOVE THIS CONTROLLER AND THE MORE I USE IT, THE MORE I LIKE IT” right? I’m good! I’m even better knowing it’s not E.O.L or even slated to be! :sunglasses:

I heard you. Loud and clear.

I would be happy if my Steinberg Houston controller also works with Nuendo 12.
