Nuendo 14: The key combination assigned to the command is not currently available

hi,

i have always this message now:

The key combination x assigned to the command is not currently available.

Somene can help me please.

Thanks.

Hi,

When exactly do you get this message, please?

Hello,

Let me explain better!

I am using the latest version of Nuendo.

For some time now, my ‘X’ shortcut has not been working and this message appears in a yellow box in the middle of the screen: ‘The key combination assigned to the command is not currently available.’

The ‘Simple crossfade editor’ box in Preferences is checked.

Thank you.

I don’t know exactly. A few weeks.

Hi,

To me it sounds like the Key Command has been assigned to another function.

Open the Key Command window. On the left side of Search field, enable the Press Key/Search Command option. Then press the Key Command in question (X). You will see, which command/function is assigned.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I am familiar with these functions and my X is assigned to ‘crossfade’.

If I assign X to another function, it’s the same error.

If I assign ‘i’ to crossfade, for example, it’s the same error.

and all others are good!

Do you have the mixer open in another window that it could be grabbing the focus, I notice i get the error only if i click the mixer after making a selection to xfade.

normally the key command not working is due to the wrong element having the focus.

Only the main window is open.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply.
I loaded an old save file and all my shortcuts are working again. But the “w” key isn’t working.
I don’t understand what’s going on, but it’s fine by me.
Kind regards

I think I had something similar happen in N13 and the solution was to recall my saved key command set. Maybe try save-as and then switch to another and then back to your most recently saved.

Thank you very much for all this information.
