Please tell me the Dorico->Cubase score editor has been ported here too. It’s the main reason I upgraded to 13 in the grace period. Scanning the video the feature set looks pretty sparse.
Nuendo is a “superset” of Cubase, so it has every cubase feature and more.
I’m pretty sure the video only showed features that are exclusive to Nuendo, so they left out everything that was introduced in C14 even though they will be part of Nuendo too.
I’m into the transcription… hopefully I can leverage it for Podcast/audio book editing .
It’s impressive, especially how it can transcribe unclear radio announcements into clean, readable text. While it’s primarily optimized for ADR and dialogue, it significantly streamlines workflow and allows for easy export to any NLE that supports CSV, and vice versa.
Yes I know, but that still doesn’t mean it has it until there is confirmation.
If it is in Cubase it WILL be in Nuendo.
I’ll eat my shoe if it doesn’t!
What kind of sauce do you prefer? I’m sure you’re right but …
I’m comparing this to the ARA Spectralayers functionality which lets you create a script from speech-to-text and then search it for key words. In post that’s great (although at least in earlier versions the “sync” was quite off if exporting). This new function seems great for ADR but won’t do much for me if I can’t easily search for key words. Granted, exporting to CSV with timecode should help, but it would have been nice if it was integrated.
I’ve been importing CSV transcriptions/Markers from Transcription services for ages. TBH I use them for navigating around the imported file .
What I’d like now ( yes, I’m going there ) is ripple editing to make cuts according to the Transcription/Marker track which cuts and ripples the audio, and also keeps the marker /transcription ‘in sync’ .
I get it … it’s for ADR , so don’t gang up on me … but I still maintain there’s a great need for editing audio ‘like tape’ but fluidly and with no cognitive strain!
Yeah I’m really hoping in the future they expand upon the transcription feature and let us search for words (and it will move the playhead to that word, etc)
well in theory I think you can search the markers that it will make for the transcription. Spectralayers PRO does do this already though- but nice to have it more integrated.
How do I search the markers?
It really should be standard at this point.
Iirc searching markers is done in the marker window or am i mixing things up with PT?
BTW @TimoWildenhain why is YT linked video only available as 360p? I can’ t read anything in the screen (at least on mobile ios).
Hello, the video plays definitely at 720. Maybe you need to change the settings?
Yeah I might have been mistaken as you can do that I believe through the transcription menu that Spectralayers makes. Hopefully adding a search to Markers may be something easy to do I’d hope as otherwise this feature is not as valuable for fiding words or sections etc. Maybe a project logical editor to select a marker with a certain name but a search should be better
Yes, PLE can do that.
But it needs to be searchable on a word-by-word basis. In other words if I need to find an alt for someone saying “butter” I need to be able to type that into a search box and have that found on the timeline.
It’s annoying to me how well Descript uses this technology, along with even being able to delete a word from the text that also removes the word from the audio. Not to mention to be able to search letters / punctuation to be able to find what you need to possibly fix small errors of a word. Definitely need more DAW’s to hop on this technology! And I say annoying because Descript is a novice user friendly program vs a DAW.
Yes PLE could do that in theory (If Media Type = Marker and Name = xx then Select, followed by Locate Selection) but would only be as good as the transcription resolution. If each marker contains a whole sentence then it won’t work on a word-by-word basis. With Spectralayers sync is quite good when you zoom in since the transcript auto-adjusts to remain in sync with what you hear and displays conveniently separated single words. No synchronised search by word though AFAIK.
