I reported it in 2024 and support confirmed the issue. It’s still there in Nuendo 15.0.30.

The problem is that ARA extensions cause clip gain lines to be applied twice - once before the extension (you can see the gain changes in Spectralayers spectrogram, for example) - and once again before being monitored. Also, this first stage of gain is then rendered into the file when you make the extension permanent, while the gain line remains active after the deal.

What is expected is for the gain line to behave as other clip gains/event volumes do: affecting the signal only once and being after the extension in the signal chain. They should never be rendered with extensions.

This has been confirmed by other users in separate threads and It has been present at least since N11 as we can see by the posts below:

Issue: Importing multiple audio files with “Insert files onto a single track” option enabled, creates multiple tracks

When importing multiple audio files at once with the “Insert files onto a single track” option enabled, Nuendo still creates multiple tracks (a new track for each audio file) if the files are not dragged directly into the timeline but are instead inserted into an empty tracklist or between existing tracks into the tracklist.

So this works (all audiofiles are getting imported into one track):

Q-Link is not working properly for Sends:

Q-Link issue send level doesn't work

Hi, In previous versions, when we enable Q-link, select more than one track, then double click to “send level” and type the number value, the same value of all selected track will also change. In Nuendo 14 it won’t work. The only way to change them at once is using the pointer to move the value. May it be a bug? This option may help when we want an exact number of send level. Meanwhile the other level values (Volume, Pan ect..) work as expected.

@N15 - Play Tool Behaviour

the Play tool position jumps after release to start of Preview playing. This is completely confusing, if you listen thru a long sound clip etc… This is a bug, or?! Please change that back like in N14. Best Dietrich

3. Mixer bypass states are not recalled properly and it is cumbersome to bypass everything. After setting all mixer sections to display a yellow dot (see bypass_state_before_save.jpg), that state is not recalled once the project is saved and re-opened.

Thank you for the detailed report and for sending the audio files.

We tested bypassing the Mixing Console sections (highlighted in yellow). Their bypass states are saved with the project and are correctly recalled in Nuendo 15.0.30.

We also compared the provided audio files by performing a null test.

After sample-accurate alignment and polarity inversion of one signal, the result was complete silence, indicating that the two signals are identical.

We repeated this test multiple times with the same result. Based on these findings, we could not detect any difference in the audio signal after it passed through Nuendo’s Mixing Console.
