I think this thread made a difference - a few days after a sticky announcement over C9 getting it on next update.
If this is the case - this gives hope that Steinberg is not all “Stein” and “berg” - meaning stones and mountains in my language as well as german I think.
They will end up selling the video engine in its next update (Pro 9.5).

I for one, do not want the feature “Replace Audio in Video” dropped unless at the same time as the updated(new video engine) is released, that
a new function to “replace-audio-in-new-video-engine” is also available AT THE SAME TIME
