Nuendo 9 predictions (EDIT: Nuendo 10!)

having just upgraded to v8 31 days ago - I’m anxious to see the grace period information

Well now they built some hype so they have to deliver! (jk)

My guess would be improved video engine/functionality, possibly a field recorder workflow, and maybe some VR stuff added. I wonder if there will be significant updates to the more ‘general’ and ‘basic’ functionality of the DAW, like mixing etc…

WHAAAAAT???
CUT DETECTION???

you made my day!!!

The plot thickens!

Called it!

And no, hadn’t seen the video yet…

ARA-Support! FINALLY! And hopefully they fixed the Hitpoint-Failing, too!

Looking great! Cut detection = fantastic! Can’t wait to find out more!

@Timo – do we have a release date? Didn’t see that announced anywhere?

BTW, here’s the GDC landing page if someone didn’t beat me to it: https://www.steinberg.net/en/products/nuendo/nuendo_10_gdc_landing_page.html

Here’s the GDC text:

Nuendo 10: The Landmark Release
At GDC 2019, we are going to preview Nuendo 10 — the upcoming release of our leading post-production and game audio DAW. Celebrating the 10th version of Nuendo since its introduction in 2000, this iteration is a landmark in every aspect.

Nuendo 10 boasts more than 40 new features and improvements, ranging from major workflow enhancements such as Field Recorder Audio Import, Video Rendering and Video Cut Detection, to sound design tools, including VoiceDesigner and Doppler effects, to DearVR Spatial Connect integration, making it the most comprehensive VR authoring DAW in the market.

And it doesn’t stop there: Nuendo 10 comes with a redesigned user interface, new and improved plug-ins, a reworked channel strip and more than 30 other features and improvements, among various tools for music composing.

Meet our product specialists for an exclusive preview at GDC 2019 in San Francisco, as usual with our friends from Audiokinetic at booth #1041 in the South Hall of the Moscone Center on March 20–22.

Do we have to wait that long?

How do you FIND that stuff??

And the long awaited video rendering is here!

Yes, we’ve been working on this since quite a while and it’s still in development.
It might not go into the first Nuendo 10 version, but in a 10.1/10.2 shortly after
the initial release.

@Timo: Will N10 include an increased number of Cue Sends promised for the N8 life-cycle and a fix for Nuendo/Tango bug introduced with N8.2 ?

Answering my question from another thread:

I was looking at the website and somehow I landed on the utube channel. The video was already online and I felt like… “whaaaaaat?”

Also really looking forward to at least 6 if not 8 cue sends. And closely followed by a (free) app for pads/phones so clients can mix their own cue send

That’ll be a long overdue update to icPro.

The cue sends won’t be extended unfortunately as we had to allocate the resources to complete the Field Recording Import function.
It is however still on the list.

Hello,

I cannot see anything about much anticipated multitrack timestretching: can you confirm that?

Thanks,
Cochrane

Hello,

you can already timestretch multitrack files or am I missing something?..
At least I m doing it all the time converting stereo and surround files from 24 to 25 fps.

I’m referring to timestretching ‘distinct’ multi-selected mono/stereo tracks in the arrange page, not making a surround audio event and stretching it as a whole content (btw, it’s the current workaround but you have to convert tracks to surround event): all the main DAW softwares can do that and I’m eagerly waiting to do it in Cubendo someday…
