Does anyone have any good examples of Nuendo Atmos routing Top/Middle layer usage?
For those that don’t know it is the routing settings on multichannel plugins:
I am trying different methods when dealing with multichannel Atmos processing. It seems like its included for a specific (perhaps smart) reason, but I haven’t really found a good use for it yet.

can just contribute one example. It was more to overcome a technical limitation of a plugin.
This plugin (a binaural encoder) was limited to 8x channels. To handle 7.1.4, I had to instantiate two of them as an Insert. Via the menu as in your screenshot, one was to use the Middle-Layer which is 7.x.x, and the other one the Top Layer with x.x.4. Each plugin instance was configured separately and independently.
The plugin shows this selection mechanism as in your screenshot. To me, it is kind of a “routing by named groups”. Not every inserted plugin shows this “routing options menue”.
