I crossgraded to Nuendo from Cubase 10.5 to Nuendo 11. Cubase 10.5 was of course on the old elicensor for which i still have the USB stick.
Can I still reinstall this version? What would the cost be if i wanted to ressurect and upgrade Cubase independantly to version 13
I only ask because I think I found something that Cubase 13 can do but Nuendo cannot. Need to do more testing on this today though. A bit suprised as I thought Nuendo could do everthing that Cubase same version could with no exception.
Crossgrading from Cubase Pro to Nuendo in the eLicenser era resulted in you giving up your Cubase licence for a Nuendo licence. The result is that you no longer have a licence for Cubase.
You have two options at this point. I would activate a trial licence of Cubase Pro 13, which will be enough to test your hypothesis without payment. Alternatively, you can buy Cubase Pro 13, but you would have to buy an expensive full licence unless you have another licence you can upgrade to Cubase Pro 13.
As a Nuendo owner who does not own Cubase, I’m curious. What functionality do you think is missing from Nuendo?
Hi David I’m still testing with a cubase 13 trial to compare with Nuendo 13. I’m trying as others have to get either Cubase or Nuendo to sync up with Dorico 5 and the TLX timecode plug-in. MTC will do the timecode but MMC I would hope would allow Dorico transport buttons to control. Cubase /Nuendo. I don’t think that Dorico itself generates either MMC or MTC but apparently the TLX plugin at least does generate MTC. Others have got this going so it might be a stop gap until the long desired fuller integration of Dorico with Cubase/Nuendo comes around the corner. So looking forward to that day - and why oh why did everyone drop Rewire
Cubase 13 has tickbox for MMC slave active whereas Nuendo does not.
I’ve only just started looking at this so it may well be that Nuendo has another way of handling syncing the transport controls anyway.
(The last time i fooled around with synchronisation was around 1990 with a Tascam TSR8, XRI Synchronizer, and Voyetra Sequencer+ Gold on Windows 95 probably - still got the hardware - even polish it sometimes)
The situation only changed once Steinberg Licensing was released.
Crossgrading Cubase Pro 11 or earlier (i.e. an eLicenser licence for Cubase Pro) to Nuendo results in the loss of the Cubase licence. I crossgraded from Cubase Pro 11 to Nuendo 11, so I no longer have a Cubase licence.
Crossgrading Cubase Pro 12 or later to Nuendo leaves the Cubase licence intact.
Can somebody confirm that the cross-grade Cubase to Nuendo, keep intact my Cubase license (Cubase Pro 13) and even allow me to upgrade it to i.e. Cubase Pro 14 in future?
