I’ve been a Steinberg end user since 2015 when I switched to Cubade 8 and went from Mac to PC. I have been on Nuendo for several years now and use Nuendo 15.
Since my start, I’ve had two things I consider important for my workflow. I work in a hybrid environment consisting of live instruments, processors and vocals and Midi. For some reason no one can explain to me (because it’s normal operations in othe DAWs) I can bounce multiple audio tracks without any effort but I can’t execute the same operation in Midi. Say. I have 32 Midi tracks that each have separate parts in sections on each track and I want all 32 track to be contiguous, not fragmented, I have to bounce each of the 32 tracks one by one. First select all on track then midi bounce. Sure, I can create a Macros or set up logical editor to do that but why does that feature not normally exist?
My second wish is the strange annomally that happens with solo in place when running automation. Say, I have automation on and working on a mix. I need to check something out on the bass track and hit solo. What I get is the bass track but the piano track is also soloing up. That should not be. It should be only the bass solo in place. Sure, I can use the listen feature but that is not truly solo in place. Again, this is normal operations in other DAWs. Nuendo is my main DAW but I also run 2 other DAWs that operate normally with these features.
I hope this somehow resonates with the universe (and hopefully Steinberg) and get these issues fixed. I’ve been in the recording world going back to analog days and the solo inplace function goes back to those days of analog with automation like the Nevecam for Neve consoles. Who knows, maybe my long time request will get resolved. If you read this far, thank you.
