Nuendo forgets the settings for audio connections

Hello colleagues,

We have connected a new audio interface (MOTU). When we launched Nuendo, the audio interface was accidentally disabled. A prompt then appeared asking which driver should be loaded. I naturally selected MOTU.

Since then, Nuendo has been ‘forgetting’ the settings in the audio connections. We’ve created presets for this. It’s also ‘forgetting’ the presets, meaning we have to reconfigure the audio connections every time we restart Nuendo.

We contacted Steinberg Support today. Renaming the folder under AppData → Roaming etc., so that Nuendo automatically recreates everything, only brought partial success in that Nuendo has since started remembering the outputs again. But not the inputs. We still have to reconfigure those every single time as well.

Does anyone know the solution?

Which model? I have a MOTU M2 that I use for recording.

Just to be safe, is everything (MOTU interface itself and driver, and your OS of choice) up to date?

I’ve found a good solution. Launch Nuendo. Load your templates. Then open the audio connections. Load your presets. Then save the templates again under the same name as the original templates. Make sure that Nuendo always retrieves the templates from the folder (Windows) Users … AppData → Roaming → Steinberg → Nuendo 13_64 (or 14_64) if you’ve created a separate folder for the templates. At least here, it always retrieves the templates from there.

And that way, Nuendo ‘remembers’ the settings in the audio connections.
