I have a project that always opens with a track muted. I checked the automation and there is no automation on the mute track. I notice that the parameter button is lit as well. No matter how many times I set the project at the starting point with the mute button unmuted, the parameter light off, SAVE the project, the dang project loads with the track muted and the parameter button on. ZERO automation on the mute track and its not part of a group.
Any Ideas?

Do you have a control surface connected?
Yes but sometimes i use it and sometimes its off and I still get the muting issue. Its a presonus faderport 8
As a test, “save as” a new version… and then from the automation panel “Remove all automation in project”. Save again, and close and reopen…

I didnt see a remove all automation but i ended up deleteing the mute parameter completely from the track and still no success
If you want to try it, Open the main automation panel (project - automation panel). Click the dropdown button and pick “delete all automation in project”
I just deleted all automation, made sure the track was unmuted and saved it. I opened the project back up and the track is still muted. Im going to call steinberg direct to see if this is a known issue. thanks for your help. Ill update you with what I find.
So I was able to reach out and do a session with Steinberg this morning. He basically created an empty project, went to file>import tracks from project> select “All” and remove the parameters>save project as new file>reopen and the tracks were no longer muted. Turns out the project was corrupted. Good lesson to back up your projects. unfortunately I was backing up corrupted projects. At lease I have new option now.
