Hi Wonderful Forum peeps.
So I was getting the classic Nuendo shutting down after close and not properly writing preferences after a session etc. I felt it was one of my templates so ran a few test with unloading plugs.
Found out that POWAIR - from Sound Radix was the issue for anyone that uses this great plugin. I have the latest version so I will reach out to their support to let them know. Wanted to flag it as I suspect waveform drawing issues may be connected to the project not shutting down properly not sure 100% and its quite annoying not having all changes locked into preference when closing a project etc.
Some more info for Devs is that I tried running procdump and as soon as I loaded that it threw up an error that POWAIR cannot run any debugging tools and pointed to that as the issue.
Thanks for letting us know. For us it is Altiverb 8 and Speakerphone 3 on Win.
Aram from Audioease is aware, but does not really get a grip on the problem I think.

Thank you for letting us know - I use Powair quite a bit, and though i haven’t run into this issue with it in a project, saved in a template (Windows 11), I will keep it in mind and look for future updates.

Interesting I have speakerphone 3 and seems to not effect the template at least. I’ll look out for that as well. Speakerphone 3 was an absolute nightmare when I switched from 2 and needed to go back to a previous project that had a lot of instances of v2. It was not at all backwards compatible as they claimed - at least for us on Nuendo sadly. I don’t think the idea to make that plugin have the same ID as speakerphone 2 was a good idea.
The problem persists in heavy mix projects with 250-350 tracks and lots of plugins. It does not occur in more light weight project afaik.
That does not make the problem easier to solve ^^
Talked to Sound Radix support and this solved the issue by disabled OpenGL for the plug with a text script. Hopefully they will find an easier remedy in the future.

Awesome, thank you! Do you know if this .txt file method is needed for any of their other plugins?
They didn’t mention. I have only Audio Aligh POST 2 also and since its ARA seems to be okay. I don’t have any others to test, though I assume that may work if same problem is still occuring with other Sound Radix plugs in a session.

Yeah I know what you mean. The problem is reoccurring after my template fix on my side - no processing, no editing, no new plugs to the template - just on importing/ organizing large amount files. Only thing I can see is that it didn’t finish building images because of the waveform redrawwing bug, and now when I close it shutoff again. arghhh
