I am a Nuendo user for many years, but I seem to find more support when I Google, “How to in Cubase…” than to Google Nuendo. It seems like Steinberg would create more brand awareness if they rebrand Nuendo as some form of elevated version of Cubase. It is no secret that Cubase has much more brand recognition than Nuendo, and I imagine that if they did this, it would drive a lot more upgrades from Cubase Pro to Cubase “Ulitmate”. I noticed that with Cubase 15 the installer is the same for all versions and the license is what unlocks the version that you purchased. This makes perfect sense. Anyways, just curious how others felt about this. At the end of the day, I am heavenly vested into the Steinberg/Yamaha ecosystem, so it makes little difference to me what the name is, but for future growth, I wonder how this will evolve.

Hi
I understand your line of reasoning. IMO, this would not support Steinberg’s most important claim: Nuendo being a distinct product for post pro and areas that are not covered by Cubase. Rebranding Nuendo as Cubase Ultimate might not sit well with that marketing strategy.

agreed …
But in addition to the long term branding issue mentioned by
… it also makes it a lot less confusing to decouple release dates for Nuendo and Cubase. And that has numerous advantages, many of which can probably be figured out by reasonably astute individuals.
