When saving a project in Nuendo (version 13.0.41), it’s very slow.
After investigation, I found that some Kontakt (8.1.0) instrument tracks are causing this issue. I also noticed that when a save operation is triggered (either actively with Ctrl+S, through automatic backup, or in-place rendering), Nuendo continuously reads from the disk where Kontakt’s loaded samples (in this case, CSS) are stored, while the project itself is on a different disk (both are high-speed SSDs). The save time takes about ten seconds, during which the sample disk is being read continuously.
When I remove these Kontakt tracks, the save time reduces to less than one second. I don’t understand why saving the project requires reading the samples. Is there perhaps a setting that could resolve this issue?
Hi Soundman,
OS win10, Nuendo 13.0.50.
I have my libraries Halion, Iconica Opus, NI, EW and Spitfire
split over 4 m2 disks. Also using Kontakt 8 up to 120 instrument tracks.
I have no problems at all, just using standard factory settings.
Are your disks ok? Upgrade to Nuendo 13.0.50?
I tested it again, and it seems to be an issue with Kontakt 8. Saving 5 kontakt7 tracks takes about 1 second, but with 5 Kontakt8 tracks, using the same instruments and settings, saving takes over 10 seconds.
thanks.
