Nuendo UTF-8 CSV file import with Autodetect

  1. Import a CSV as marker containing text with apostrophe’s and quotation marks using the “Auto Detect” setting
  2. Look at timeline markers and notice the weird characters appearing:

That’s all there is to it. The file I tried to import was UTF-8 encoded. If I convert the CSV into UTF-16, Nuendo imports these markers correctly:

What I expect to happen:

Autodetect detecting UTF-8 properly.

What instead happens:

Autodetect detecting UTF-8 improperly.

Workaround:
Just putting it on UTF-8 definately works but sometimes I don’t know exactly what format the file is / I don’t want to bother with it.
