Number in brackets on every system

I don’t know whether the image will show up below but all of a sudden, as I’m trying to do the final layout, a number “1” in brackets has shown up on the side of the first violin part in every system. I don’t think this is a flow number, but it gets on the printed or saved copy, and I don’t know what it is or how to get rid of it. I’m sure this is a simple problem but I’m such a newbie and it’s difficult to find the answer in the manual. Thanks.

You’re right, it’s a group number, actually a Player group name.

Either remove the group in Setup Mode by dragging the instrument(s) out of the group and delete it, or in Layout Options > Staves and Stems > Staff Labels disable “Show player group names” in Full Score.
