My current project has several wind instruments for which I want to show numbers, and several sections of choral singers for which I don’t want to show numbers. How can I do this in
Dorico 5? Also, there are a couple of places where I am dividing the string basses, and page view shows them as 1 and 2. I would like to suppress the display of these numbers also. How do I do this in Dorico 5?
Hi, there are a couple of things you can do.
First of all, you can use the Layout Options to switch visibility of Staff names on and off.
There is also the option to use Short names or Full names. Which means you could edit the Short names so they show a different text - or stop the numbering (by preceding a name with an empty space).
Another possibility would be to use Player names instead of Instrument names.
A third possibility is to create another player and use him only for passages where there is no divisi.
