numbering repeated bars (in parts)?

Hi,

Is there a way for Dorico to automatically number the when I have say 12 bars of a sustained note? I’d like for those to be numbered (in parenthesis)…

Thanks

No, not yet, but it’s definitely something we are planning to add. Some users remove the bar repeat symbol in Engrave > Music Symbols and then use a bar repeat region for this purpose, I think, but that’s obviously no good if you also need to use bar repeats in your project.

Thanks Daniel !

In the meantime, there’s this solution: https://www.steinberg.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=246&t=150219&hilit=Chuffed#p807989

It appeared to me in the Help that this has been added in Dorico 4.0.31..
It does not work for me. I highlight a region, Shift-R numbars Enter (or Write > Create Numbered Bar Region). Nothing happens in the part.
If I do this with the lower zone open, a set of options appear, all disabled.
If I enable them (see picture) still nothing happens in the part.

Well, there are still workarounds, but have I misunderstood this?

Do you have them set to show in that Layout? What do you have selected here in Layout Options?

Thank you. The answer.
