Obscure Tools and Plugins for Post Production?

Hey, I’m continuing my journey of learning more and more about Nuendo (latest version). I have the basics down, and now I’m experimenting a bit.

A few years ago, I painstakingly made automation for a project to emulate the “movement” of a sound source… only to find out about the Doppler plugin afterward.

That got me thinking, what are some other “obscure” or music production-oriented plugins or VST Instruments/Editors that can be used for Audio Post Production? Do you implement any in your workflow?

I’m thinking of Halion, the Sampler Track (never used before) and other things. Thanks!

Sampler track is great for sound design. I’m also very eager to test the new modulator introduced in 14.
Also the pitch shift envelope is great, all the reverbs of course… Voice designer can be fun as well as all the modulators and distortion plug-insas well as the randomizer.
It’s really a matter of trying and imagination.

Halion Of course but apart from Bitwig grid, Massive, Iris2 (was free last year), I have lately been using Padshop Pro (Granular and Spectral Synthesizer), X-Stream (Spectral Synthesizer) Backbone (free right now before Nuendo 14 hits the market 5$ actually) and of course randomiser.
If you are familiar with Iris or Padshop Pro then you should feel at home with X-Stream and Backbone.
Grab Backbone before it’s gone.

Awesome! I’ll try to load some SFX into Sampler track and see what I can do with it. The new modulators look like a lot of fun, too

Oh, this is NICE. I’m downloading Backbone as soon as I get home! There’s a lot of unique sounds in there
