On a part from a jazz score, I have bars containing rests in several places. I’ve disabled multimeasure rests, but as an exception, when there is a large amount of bars of rest, for example 32 bars for an entire vocal chorus, I’d like to be able to use a 32-bar multimeasure rest to save space on the page. How can this be achieved?
This can be achieved in the opposite way you are dealing with it. Accept multibar rests (as a whole), and use tricks locally to avoid those anywhere you don’t want them (using chord regions?) or use the split multibar tool if chord regions are not an option.
This would be very tedious since I would have to edit dozens of groups of measures one by one. Alternatively, is it possible to set Dorico to create multimeasure rests starting from a certain amount of measures?
No, but this has been requested before.
