Octava sign

Hi,
I usually don’t use the “8va” music font sign in my engravings, but a regular font “8”.

Can’t find a way to change the octava sign in Dorico.

Any clue?

You can set Engraving Options just to use “8”, rather than 8va (or others), but if you really want it in a different font, you will need to change the “Ottava” symbol in the Music Symbols Editor to a glyph from whatever font you want to use.

Thanx, Benwiggy. It seems to work, except for following octava signs (the ones with parenthesis): the left parenthesis is in place but the “8” and the right parenthesis end up way above ???

Strange…

Music fonts and text fonts work in quite different ways – sizes, baselines, margins, etc.

On reflection, it’s probably best to leave it as the standard 8.

You’re probably right.

Thanx for your time.
